Summer in New Zealand

Today has been a warm day for most of the country. A northwest wind meant that many places on the west were windy, and some had rain; however, the east was fine and sunny. The temperature in Hastings was over 30 degrees today and many other towns had temperatures in the high 20s. The north was warmer than the south, as usual.

It is important to be sun-safe when you are outside in New Zealand. Listen to January 5th 2013 to hear about keeping yourself safe from sunburn.

Vocabulary

  • high 20s means 27, 28 or 29
  • sun-safe means being safe when in the sun
