Soccer in New Zealand

The All Whites, New Zealand’s soccer team has a chance to play in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The last time a New Zealand team was part of the World Cup was in 1982. Soccer is a popular game to play in New Zealand, especially for school children, but rugby is known as the national game. Soccer is not usually mentioned in the news but now that the All Whites might make the World Cup again, soccer is getting a lot more publicity.

The All Whites are playing Bahrain on Saturday, November 14th. The game is being played at the Westpac Stadium in Wellington and all tickets have been sold. The team that wins the game will get to play in the World Cup. Unlike New Zealand, Bahrain has never before played in a World Cup.
