The Royal Tour

The Royal Tour starts next Monday. Prince William, his wife Kate and baby son George will visit New Zealand for 9 days until 16th.

They will be based in Government House in Wellington but will visit Auckland, Hamilton, Cambridge in the North Island, and Christchurch, Dunedin and Blenheim in the South Island. The baby will probably stay in Wellington because babies are usually happiest if they stay in one place. However, there will be opportunities for the media to take photos of him.

Baby George is 9 months old. By coincidence, his father came to New Zealand when he too was only 9 months old. He came with his parents Prince Charles and Princess Diana. There is a famous photo of him on the lawn, playing with a buzzy bee which was a gift from New Zealand.

After visiting New Zealand, the royal family will go to Australia.

Vocabulary
