Dunedin Fashion Week

This week is Dunedin Fashion Week. It is the 14th year that Dunedin has held their fashion week. The programme is exciting with breakfast shows, speakers and fashion shows. The breakfast shows include vintage clothes, jewellery and fashion photography. A famous UK milliner – Stephen Jones – who has designed hats for Princess Diana, Lady Gaga and Madonna, will show his collection of 33 hats.

Fashion shows include formal wear, men’s wear, leather clothes, hats and hair design, and quirky clothing. The finals of the Emerging Designers show will be tomorrow evening. On Friday and Saturday, the main fashion shows will be held at the Dunedin Railway Station. The station no longer has passenger trains but the railway station is a famous and beautiful historical building. The platform is 120m long and this makes a good catwalk. Ten of the models come from Shanghai. The designers are well-known names from New Zealand and overseas.
