New gun laws will be in place by April the eleventh.
Semi-automatic guns will be reclassified and restricted. A new law has created a category called Military Style Semi-Automatics (MSSA); these are guns that can hold a lot of ammunition, and they are the ones that will be much more difficult to buy.
In the future, people who have an MSSA will need an E-class license. It means that they will have to explain to the police why they need one and show that they have a safe place to keep the gun. It is expected that this will be very rare.
Those who own MSSAs right now and don’t have the E-class license will be able to sell them back to the government. Many owners of MMSAs have already handed them in to the police as a response to the shooting on the fifteenth of March.
Other responses have been a number of vigils around the country which were attended by thousands of people. The prime Minister has asked Media to avoid using the name of the shooter so that he does not get the notoriety that he wanted.
For this reason I’ll be deleting the name of the shooter from the previous article.
